STILL I AM ALIVE

(Against the turbulent activism of Indian military, and the ongoing issues in Kashmir valley)
I know you will jot me down in the history
With your filthy and sharpened letters
I know you will trod me, beneath your foots,
Believe, still I am alive.
Does my utterance upset you?
Do the uprisings I generate offend you?
‘Cause I have stringent wealth and weaponry,
Human-insane to curb you.
Still I am alive.
Moonless nights aren’t stranger here,
For me, they create sufficient veils
‘To set out as a stoutest cyclone,
A blockade to your turbulent vicissitudes’
Dare to declare, still I am alive.
Does my silence tickle your toes?
Does the patience, my attitude console you?
‘Cause I pay tribute, and war as reception
To your tourist-pub impress you’
Not so, still I am alive.
Across the harsh-grasses and meadows
Blossomed in my backyard
‘Shall I close my doors?
To whom, planned expeditions?’
Pardon me, still I am alive.
