Khilafath is a system of rule introduced by the Islam. They prefer the way of holy Qura’n and prophetic texts. The constitution of Islamic Khilafath is emerged from these scripts. By the term Khaleefa we elucidate the ruler of Islamic constitution. It mainly targets to maintain the equality and justice among the people. The state head of the government is known as Khaleefa. Khaleefa Aboobacker Sidheeq R was the foremost Khaleefa in the Islamic constitution. According to the prophetic texts, the khilafath had remained approximately for 30 years. The essence of Khilafath was only found in these years. This period was known as Khilafath Al Rashidiyya ( governce of righteous). As well as it is described as the shadow of prophetic rule.
Condition of Islam Khilafath
According to the Islamic Shareath it explains six conditions for a Khilafath.
1 He needs a land and some people
2 There should be power and supremacy for Muslims above this land.
3 There should be a khaleefa who fulfills the conditions proposed by the Islamic Shareeath.
4 The prominent leaders and scholars from that area want to accept the ruler by the system of Bay’ath.
5 The Khaleefa wants to accept this Bay’ath.
6 A Muslim army is needed for the protection of country.
In fact the khilafath is a public obligation. Also it’s compulsory for the Muslims to accept one as their ruler. This is well justified in the most dominant text ‘Sharahul Aqaeda’. According to NIbraz, this is compulsory only for Muslims. Unfortunately, at this present context, the unification of all leaders from different parts of the world is not possible. Because each leader will explore selfish needs. Therefore, as quoted in Nibraz Khilafath is compulsory only in an Islamic republic. Therefore the Muslims can select a ruler from their native places. Make it globally is not a possible fact. If Muslims become helpless to select a common leader then there is no sin.
But we can see a statement in the holy text ‘Thuhfa’ that if people are compelled to select a persecutor as Imam then it is possible. This is clean evidence that elucidate the importance of a Khilafath rule. If we become helpless then the people are compelled to accept the opinions of the dominant scholar in religious matters.
According to the Islamic view point the whole world is under the control of the Khaleefa or imamul A’alam. World is the boarder. The whole livings in these areas are the companions of this King. He will appoint governors to the different provinces of his kingdom. But it’s clear that at the present context no one can able to handle the weight of Khilafath. That’s why the prominent Islamic scholars state that it is not compulsory for the Muslims to accept a ruler as the Khaleefa at the present context.
There is a prophetic text which says that the Khilafath will occur after his demise for a time that Allah intends, then after it will monarchy and dictatorships. And finally while Allah intends the khilafath will come back again. Many scholars explained the comeback of Khilafath by the arrival of Apostle Easa A. Indeed, as prophet quoted, the khilafath only remained for 30 years after his demise. But the Shiya people argue that Khlaeefa Aboobacker Sidheeq R had snatched the power. They say that Ali R was the one suitable for that position who is one among the family of Prophet Muhammed PBUH. Even the orientalists state that the Khilafath system was very faithful.
Whatever the discourses say, the Khilafath had ended in the world before a long time. Khilafath Al Abassiyya, Al Umaviyya etcetera are some examples of monarchy. Recently originated Islamic state is also trying to establish a new Khilafath in the world. Definitely this is far away from the Islamic laws. That’s why many Muslim countries and Islamic scholars doesn’t accept the newly originate IS.
